I have eggs in the incubator, and let's say it's been a rough go. Broody had them, fine, then crushed some(2 died), took them, power went out for a day, back under broody, hen off nest day 20, back upstairs! When I put them in, 2 looked "good", another 2 looked "maybe", the last I threw in because I really couldn't tell.

Anyhow, one chick hatched this am, and it is dry now, but seems to be panting. I have one pip, nothing else I can see going on. Should I take the chick out? Temp is right at 100. Nice and humid. It's also crashing into all the other eggs, kinda rolling them all over. :o

I'm no expert, but if the chick is panting, I would take him out. Just do it as quickly as possible. What kind of bator is it? Is the vent plug removed? If it has a vent plug, make sure it's removed so it is getting enough oxygen. Good luck!
