Its over a hundred degrees now. The chicks are a week old. They are panting. I have a fan on the brooder and a frozen water bottle and its in the garage. Its colder at night and the big girls are out there so I can't let them loose. Any other ways to cool them?

Heat is such a danger to chicks - if the temperature where you are at is such that your garage is 100 or more, why not just move your brooder outdoors to a safe shaded area during the heat of the day (ie in the yard, on a porch, etc) where it is more open to air circulation?

I think its hotter outside of the garage. I'll have to bring them inside the house if there's another 102° day. I put frozen water bottles and a fan and they still panted til the temp went down. The forecast says 99° today so I hope they're better.
