Hot Water problem

Yes it could and probably is the thermocouple. The pilot light heats the coupler to a desired temp which then kicks in the heater to heat the water. You will still have a pilot light with a bad coupler.

Yeah but I just don't get it, the tank is warm like normal, water pressure is normal, pilot and burner is lit and looks normal

Ok so how long do I need to have everything shut off before taking the part out and going to Home Depot? I don't need anymore repair injuries

yes it's pretty much just unscrewing a nut. the thermocouple is like a safety switch/ thermostat the pilot heats it and it tells the valve it's safe to open, that the pilot is lit, the tips burn down after awhile ,
home depot i worked in this dept

Ok so now the burner won't even light...still the thermo? I want to know before I go buy one and try not to blow myself up in the process of fixing it

Check your cold water supply to the heater. If it is blocked, hot water will not flow out. You said the tank was warm, so it could be water supply issue.

I have been told a few other possiblities on a plumbing forum so I have a plumber (yay for free estimates) coming out to look and see whats wrong. Appearently its illgal to fix your own water heater in AR but what they don't know won't hurt them (and hopefully not me either LoL)
