Steven, looking at your coop, I have a suggestion. It's what I do with windows and pop doors on my coops. Think about making wood covers to go over the screen, stain them to match, then hinge them at the top. Then you just open the bottom a foot or two and brace it open. This will protect the screened area from the sun and the rain and you could close them for warmth in the winter. You could open one or two or all of them depending on the weather. This works well on my coops, especially the one that has south facing windows as that is where most of our rain comes from. I also put a large fan in the window at one end of the coop blowing out. Of course the inside of the fan is also screened so no one accidentally get in it. By it blowing out, it brings in cooler air without blowing directly on the birds.
