Last summer I would treat my hens to some frozen grapes and bananas to help keep them cool. This year I discovered a new treat for them. I freeze a whole head of iceberg lettuce. This type of lettuce is predominately water anyway. They loved it an ate the whole thing. It was not super hot here, but I thought I would just do a trial run. LOL!! Just an idea.....

My chickens LOVE lettuce any way they can get it. Great idea!

My girls love frozen peas.

Good idea about the frozen lettuce! Mine also like peas, but my goofy ducks will NOT eat peas in any shape, form, or fashion. I'd always heard the "duck people" say their ducks love peas. Mine are the oddballs...

cold watermelon from the fridge is a hit with my chickens, guinea fowl and my turkey!

I also thought peas, but my silly birds won't touch them. I have also done cold melon and on the occasion, frozen corn!
