for the afterlife, it is believed that good dogs go live on the moon with the wolves (hence why wolves howl at the moon) and bad dogs burn on the sun

Sure. I didn’t even know it was the third or even that there were sermons so it makes no difference to me...

a 10/10 headcanon. i dont remember it entirely but i remember liking it

when we first started Soliel put a third rock up, if i remember correctly.

Secretary/Beta
They are the second in command. The Lupus call them betas and the Canis call them secretaries. They are the same thing but with different names. They assist the alpha in everyday life, organize with the general where guardian patrols will go, and run notes between alphas to the secretary/beta in the other pack. They also usually are the ones that will become alpha when the alpha dies or retires. When the alpha has to leave on business matters, they will temporarily become in charge of the pack. The secretary also keeps track of time. With seven rocks, they place one out each day right outside the healers den on a flat stone. On the seventh rock/day, it is time for the paragon's sermon. Four cycles of rocks is a moon. Secretaries/betas are also responsible for monitoring the education of novitiates. They often tag along in novitiate hunts or patrols to observe progress. They can be either gender. The alpha chooses which dog they want to be their secretary/beta, and if the paragon agrees with the alpha, he will bless the new secretary/beta with a drop of seawater on his forehead. Part of the Deputation.
