House training Rabbit

You may need to experiment with different kinds of litter to see which your bunny likes - just stay away from clay and esp. the clumping kind.
Is she leaving doodles all over the place as she hops around? You should pick those up and put them into the box, but you should also be seeing a steady decline in that behavior. If there is a corner or certain place where bunny always leaves piles, put the box in that area.
Sadly, I don't think any bunny ever totally stops doodling where they shouldn't. When my girl was excited about something often a poo would pop out - whee!

Because 99% of the information they give off on there is inaccurate, and incorrect. That is why. Best to stick with ARBA recommendations. At least there is less chances with their advice killing the rabbit.Theirs is always accurate and non baised too.

I also forgot to mention that my last bunny liked to sit with her patoot in the litter box while she ate - things stayed much cleaner if I positioned a box for her right by her food bowl.

We've been using a litter product called "yesterday's news". Its compressed newspaper, in pelleted form. Much more absorbent than shredded paper and seems to work really well. Target carries it and so does Wal-mart in our area. Usually they only have one or two bags, but they carry it. You can also get it at Petco and probably Petsmart.

thanks!
I made 4 litter boxs for her today.
And she used one already.

She is mainly litter boxed trained but every once and a while she pees outside of the litter box and she allways poos outside of it.
She has a cage that I lock her in when I can't suppervise her. But now she has started attacking me when I go to put her in the cage.
Is there anything I can do other then fixing her?

You can place a corner litter box in the cage for the rabbit to use. They are pretty cheap and you can get them at any pet store. Use feline pine, or wood chips. Never cat litter.

i would never recommend the hrs information to a newbie. Much of the information on ther eis dangerous for a pet rabbit(diet, and whats recommended for toys). The litter training info is OK but not exactly the best source out there. Best information to start with is the ARBA guidebook to raising better rabbits and cavies. It has excellent section on keeping house rabbits. And does not provide any info that will harm them. You can get it at www.arba.net.

Also intact bucks will spray, wther they are around a female or not. Best to get them neutered by a rabbit savy vet if you don't plan to breed them.

I can't speak for anyone else, but my problem with the HRS is that their local members have a problem with me! To them, I am the Evil Rabbit Breeder, the person who keeps her rabbits outside in cages and makes rabbits that they then have to rescue from the people I sell them to. To them, I am the rabbit equivalent of a puppy mill. I know that these particular members are vegetarians, and I think they suspect that I eat my rabbits, too (anathema!!) I don't "hate" them, I just think they're rather ridiculous.

Frankly, I like some of the things that I found on the HRS site. There are some things that I totally disagree with. I certainly would hope that it wouldn't be the sole source of info that someone starting with rabbits looked at!

Yoker, are the "bunny berries" deposited in particular places (like corners) or are they all over the place? I hear that some rabbits are just neater than others. Certainly in my rabbitry, I see some rabbits that seem to put almost everything in one corner, and others that have poo scattered pretty well all over the space under their cages.

You said your rabbit attacks you when you try to put her back in her cage. What does she do, exactly? What do you do? I'm trying to figure out if this is just excitement, or if this rabbit is thinking that she's the one in charge!

She drops "bunny berries" every where.
Well I let her out when I can supervise her but when I want to put her back she runs around and I can't cetch her so I blocked of an area and let her run in to it then I slowly reach in and pet her but then she takes her front paws and scratches me and also bites me.
I would love to keep her but if she keeps this up then that is no fun.

I am sorry but I am of the opinion that keeping farm/wild animals indoors is just plain ridiculous, just read some of the post here about pooping and spraying and chewing and ruining carpets. It just doesn't make sense to allot of folks, I do realize and condone your right to do whatever you please I am fine with that. All I am saying is everytime I have ever entered a home where a farm animal was being kept as a member of the family, the home was a total wreck and smelled worst than the barn. Do you people not care or what others think!!!!!! please help me understand this fetesh you have and why. I do not mean to offend anybody I am just looking for perspective is all.
