So plot twist...is it possible she is slow developing he? A bunch ofnmy younger ones are gobbling and ice never heard this ine gobble...till today. I have her free ranging with two of the younger gobblers and after they gobbled a couple times she tried to mimick it unsuccessfully...but then a few minutes later gobbled fine. Could it be because she or he hasnt had other turkeys around it till recently that its slowly hitting turkey puberty?

Late developing toms can take up to 6 months or longer to show their full male features. Those are some pretty big caruncles at the base for a young turkey.

In your last photo in the first post, it appears that there are some black edges developing on some of the breast feathers. Royal Palm toms will develop black edges on the lower part of their adult breast feathers.

Haha unfortunately my turkey sexing has always been done on mature wilds before i pull the trigger. Im guessing she is in fact most likely a he?

Nice poodle. Also nice to see one out hunting. Good for you!

Your house hen may be a house him....

Haha i think it may be a house him. Out of all the dogs i have had the poodle has been my favorite

Its like he finally started puberty 20 minutes ago haha. I think the others gobbling today finally got him? To kick it in gear

How cool to have a house turkey! I have a wild turkey visiting our yard. She's okay with my hens and dogs. Today I called "chick-chick" and she came running. Don't think though she'll ever perch on the sofa. :)

I will admit its been kind of fun having a house turkey. Its cool when it perches and naps on the sofa. Hardest part is it follows you EVERYWHERE and you tend to trip over it if you arent careful
