well.... i am not married but i might as well be, i live with my boyfriend & have for 3 years.
i work 50 hours a week. he works 40+ and goes to college full time (4+ classes a week, anywhere between 11-18 hours+ homework time). we have a d og (i think a schnauzer/poodle mix or a spanish water dog? 32 lbs- from a shelter), 3 housecats (all used to be strays), 6 (almost POL)pullets, and 11 chicks, a snake (used to be a friend of his), and hmm well i guess thats really it. oh and we own our own house in the city.
we have a housemate who is a hand surgeon, she works about a mile away tops at the local hospital. she is there 90-100 hours a week. she also has 1 dog a french bulldog that is a whopping 36 Lbs.
we all basically do what we can when we can. on saturday and sunday AMs, i am alone @ home til this semester is over. i've been spending mornings raking the yard and composting the leaves. any dry leaves go to my chickens they like to dig through them
usually joe (my boyfriend) does the dishes (i bought the dishwasher!) sometimes i or sarah will unload or load it but he's usually on it before we notice, i cook/order something to eat when i get home, we both help out with the chickens, i do most of the brooder/coop cleaning. he cleans the litterboxes and feeds the cats and our dog, lets the dog in and out at night. joe and our housemate (sarah) do doggie poo cleanup in the yard. i help with it when i am raking. we all do our own laundry. its easier that way because we all know when we NEED our laundry to be done. i for the most part do the bathroom cleaning. sarah does most of the vacuuming. joe steams the carpets. i always disinfect everything like doorknobs and doorframes i think i'm the only one picky enough to even think of doing that. one of our cats STINKS at grooming hisself and he always gets mats in his hair. i for the most part am his hairstylist (and cut the mats off of him) he hates it though. oh yeah and joe is the sole caretaker of that snake i mentioned before. shes a ball python so all she does is lay around, and eat the occasional rat.
oh and on top of that joe and i are always building things; chicken coops, furniture guitars, etc. we're always working on our house, oh and i garden, sew and paint.
