Ok when you post questions on here you have to expect people coming up with concerns. You really did not give us alot of info to go on. Everyone on here are always conerned about the health and well being of animals so when you come off as doing some mad science experiment on them of course you will have people acting concerned. If you can not take criticism then this isnt the fourm for you. In order to help you we just needed more info that is all and to make sure the poor chicks would make it thru the experiment. Good luck with your experiment.

i lost my temper with clucky feather but its true i didnt provide enough information sorry

Please let me emphasize to you that I very clearly stated in my post to you that perhaps I was misunderstanding your intent or wording. I'm not going to apologize for my post. I will apologize for upsetting you though, as that was not my intent. My intent was to make sure those chicks were okay.

I hope you found the answer(s) you were seeking and that your chicks are doing well and are healthy and thriving.

A lighter weight hen will eat about 4 oz. per day of feed as an adult (I fill my feeders for my hens though so they never run out). It is important to give the chicks enough feed so that they never run out of food. Under 6 weeks of age, they should have feed and water 24/7.

They can die without adequate feed, and they do become depressed if alone.

You can learn more about chick rearing from these websites as well if interested (it is better to ask than not know, I always say).
