Okay so here's the story. We bought 8 chickens from a breeder last summer around August. The person we bought them from assured us that they were all girls. 5 of them were all fully grown. Three of them were younger and hadn't started laying yet. After we got them we began getting about a dozen eggs every two days and they all seemed to be laying really well except for the smallest which was only about 12 weeks when we got her. Since then with our first winter here two of them have started crowing. One is a Buff Cochin, the other I think might be a mix because it has the pantaloons like the cochins but it is a gray and white spotted color. They both have developed the red under their chin more than before and they have started crowing each day. Can hens turn into roosters? Any ideas?
