Hova-bator Genesis 1588 questions

Well, as previously stated, I ordered those incubators from eBay on Thursday and they arrived on Monday. They were new and in factory sealed box as advertised. I opened them up and set them up. They reached temp in like 20 min. They are preset for 100 degrees and the temp reading seems to be staying at 100.3 degrees. Humidity is around 46 to 48 percent. I love the digital displays! I am glad I did not have to wait long to get them! I cracked open one of my girls's eggs from yesterday and it had a bulls-eye.... I am going to collect some today and tomorrow and throw them in! Can not wait!

Cool! Very excited to get mine. i ordered it Sunday night and they shipped it Monday morning. Tracking looks like i should get it by Monday. i have really liked my first Genesis, but controls on top sound much more convenient.

Good luck with your eggs, Curranchickens!

I ordered one on Friday from Cutler's. I am assuming from what I have read here it will be the older model, but that will still be a big improvement over my homemade foam incubators.

I ordered mine with an auto turner, I can't wait to be able to set them and not worry about them until lockdown!

Hope you have better luck then I did. I ordered the same kit from Cutler. They sent me the older model and I have nothing but trouble with it and Cutler has no customer service. They never even responded to my emails, not once. If I were you I would cancel and order the newer model from someone else. Just saying.

Ive never had a problem with cutler, they do have customer service if you call them. They are really busy like anyone at this time of season....I have one of the new digital hovabators with temp and humidity, and its a dud, they are replacing it for me....Like I said they are nice people, and to just tell you, the dud isn't even a month old.......Im sorry you had a bad episode, calling is better than email

Hmm, two people with duds on their new 1588's.... that's not a good sign. The complaints here are the first bad words I had heard about the Genesis.

I am glad to know that at least Cutler's tried to work with you when you called. I hope I get a good one first time around.

I don't hav time for any complications right now.

Well, my new incubator came today.

Cutler's sent me the new model.

It seems to be working except that the temp control buttons don't seem to respond, maybe I am missing a step.

My thermostat instructions are for the old model with the togel switches. I will go to GQF's web site and look up more information if it seems to need it later. According to the thermometer I have been using for all my other hatches it is only getting to 99.1

Only time will tell I supppose.

Yay! Congrats! I have the new one also... I left it at the preset and it is staying at an incubator temp of 100.3 or 4 so I have not had to change it. Have you tried to hold the button down? Sometimes on things like this, they make you hold it down for a while before it is active.

Thanks, I think I am very pleased! Temps have stabilized and my usual indoor/outdoor thermometer says 99.5/99.1 and humidity is 65%. It is more steady than my DIY incubator at the moment. This time of year I have a harder time regulating the water heater thermostat. It just does better when the house is cooler/more stable. When spring hits and my house temps start to shift more in a day, my old incubator starts swinging temps like a pendulum and spiking higher temps than I want. I am eager to try a complete hatch in this one, but it is going to be a few more weeks. I need to do some shifting in my breeding pens/turnout situation first.

I also need to separate some of my chickens before incubating the eggs. In the meantime, I could not stand the thought of the incubators sitting around empty so I ordered some hatching eggs today. It probably is not a good idea to put eggs that I pay for in the incubator for the first run but I could not help myself! Can not wait.
