hova-bator/lockdown/humidity questions

i thought the plugs had to come off for lockdown cuz they need more oxygen? please tell me if i'm wrong....mine go into lockdown on sunday.

I keep one plug in for day 1-18 then for lockdown I take out the last plug. Then place a small dish with a sponge directly underneath one of the vent holes. I use a straw to feed water from a syringe to the sponge to keep the humidity up without opening the bator. Then if the humidity is too high for some reason I open a window in the room that my bator is in and it works like a charm.

Hm. never removed the plugs. I seem to remember reading that wasn't necessary. Hearing some chirps, no pips yet. It is a day early.

Seven out of eleven eggs hatched. 6 females, one male.
