How about a Thread for Embdens?

right now my birds are my saving grace. When life gets you down... spend a few minutes with your birds.

When I read your post, all I could think is how I wish I could move Wisconsin closer to Washington! Fortunately for me, my granddaughter and daughter never tire of my stories or pics of my birds, so I'm not totally alone out here. My husband complains, but I've been having my little duck come say good night to him every evening, so I'm hoping for the best. Your Petunia's neck feathers look like my Francie's. Francie is an Embden (possibly a cross of somekind), quite elderly, and her neck has looked that way since I've known her. Best wishes to you. Your feathered family is adorable.

Does anyone else have pesky geese? Mine sit on my porch and honk like crazy or will tap on my door until I go out to see them. When they are really pesky I have to block off the porch as its more of just a walkway and will step in poo when they are at it all day. I love these 3 dearly but I take them for more walks than my dogs. Granted its normally just around the yard but still. Sometimes sitting with them isnt enough so one day I brought them for a walk and ever since then they beg for walks like crazy. Anyone else experience this, or anything like it? Lol

Mine hit the front sidewalk and if I do not get out there in time to feed they come in the garage and leave me poop presents to show how they feel about me being late for their dinner!!!!

I like to take walks with mine too and also sit and watch them have fun in the pool. They are a riot. My gander is the bold one he'll come to the back door and knock just like a human is there. I have some cute pics of him standing at the back door looking for a hand out. If I could only find them.

Haha mine are the same way. It just so happens that me and the Amish next door feed our animals at about the same time everyday. So if the Amish are out feeding the cows the geese will raise all hell until I go out to feed them lol.

Its a nice relief to know I'm not the only one who takes my geese for walks lol. That's too funny. Fingers crossed that you find them :) I'd love to see the pics. Mine tap at the door too and sometimes my dogs bark thinking that someone is here lol.
