How about a Thread for Embdens?

Eggsactly!!! What is that? haha, it´s a very old traditional english country dance that a group of men actually take very seriously, but it makes me laugh. They dance about with bells on their long socks and wear shorts and have sticks that they hit together.

There are ribbons involved, too, but I can´t remember what they´re attached to.

I believe I have seen something like that but I thought it was Switzerland. Doesn't sound like a dance for men though does it?

This was supposed to be in reply to the first post by Miss Lydia. Wonder if she will see it?

What makes him an Embdens? Mine are a pair of Danish geese and they look a lot like Sammy. He is Hom and she is Elle. In the picture on the left, Hom is on the right keeping watch and making sure Elle is safe. They are really sweet. I have only had them for a little over 4 months and I just love them. They have started laying which is way too early for goslings so I have been picking up their eggs. Had my first goose egg for supper with home made sausage patties, home made green tomatoe jam on toast. Yum!
hey, the only reason I say Sam is Embden is because the fellow we got the egg from was raising them up as meat birds and that's what he called them. They sure do look identical don't they, I'll have to read up on Danish now. your geese are lovely.

OMG!!!! HAHAHAHAHA! I'm pretty sure The Flock would rather I NOT do that dance on their freshly spread hay! I wish I'd thought to bring my phone out to snap pics but I cleaned the house and raked up the straw and was burning it all in the firepit and I didn't have any secure pockets. After I spread the grass I moved away and they all stood in a row outside the pen doorway, quietly mumbling amongst themselves. I laughed and laughed! Took them a bit but they finally ventured in to check it out. While "I" feel better that they have softer digs to lounge around in I am fairly certain they aren't very impressed.
