How about cherries?

Our cherry trees are so full its sickening. OK to feed the girls, pits and all?

WOW! My cherry tree just finished flowering here! I can't wait for the cherries! I canned about 30-36 pints from my one tree last year.

I plan to give my chickens all the ones that drop from the tree this year.

My girls love cherries. Of course, they love anything red.

I think there was a post on here a while back that mentioned that chickens will stop laying if you feed them fruit. Hasn't happened to me.

Also, someone told me that roosters eating laying feed can develop kidney disease, but feeding them black cherries can prevent it. I'm not sure if I believe it, but there you have it.

They love cherries. Mine are still just cherry babies. I can't wait for them to ripen.

The first year we had fruit in this tree it was still short enough that Broose the Goose ate all 2 or three of the cherries produced.

This year we hope to have enough to make our fabulous cherry garlic BBQ sauce with all home grown items.
