How about outdoor sensor lights

the raccoons around my place do not even move when lights come on or if yuo shine a flashlight at them. They just stay there looking at you. My chicken run adjoins my goat pen and they don't seem to like the goats much......So there's your solution Get some goats

Actually we have also allowed our dogs to run around the chicken area and I think their sent helps keep other animals away. People nearby have had issues with foxes but I have not.......(knock on wood)

Yup, that's what I'm trying to say too. SOME individual predators, particularly the ones who don't experience it much, will be scared off, but many will NOT.

(The raccoons around here will stand looking at you if you put a flashlight on 'em; but with the motion-detector security lights they don't even pause, they just carry on with whatever business they were conducting)

Again, while it's not going to *hurt*, you had better feel real comfortable with your level of predatorproofing WITHOUT the motion sensor light, because it will not add anything for a lot of predatos.
