I bought a four day old polish chick almost three weeks ago, and of course, they weren't sexed. I've read that they are a very hard breed to sex, but I've also heard that sexing by crest is accurate at a young age. Have any of you had luck with this? The anticipation is killing me but I'll probably have to wait anyways to find out. It would be helpful to have an idea what to look for with future polish chicks, though. So how accurate were your guesses based on the crest sexing method? (http://www.swpoultry.com/CindySite/Sexing_Polish.html) Is it actually even as accurate as the website mentions?

I've never heard of crest sexing polish from the day of hatching. Most people wait until the birds grow up. If you are really impatient (like me), you could collect a feather from your chick and send it off to a lab for DNA sexing (it's pretty cheap). Besides that, do some searching on BYC to find out more information. I just had a search for "sexing polish chicks" and I found this which you may find helpful https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/149215/pointers-on-sexing-polish-chicks-new-pics
