I just hatched 10 Americauna eggs and was wondering if wing sexing is accurate. I've heard different stories about it, so I was wondering what your opinions about it were. I've heard that it only works on some breeds and not others. I know that no way of sexing a chick is very accurate, but I was just wondering if anyone uses it and if it's accurate. I also heard that the males develope their feathers slower than females. It looks like it could be accurate on my chicks, but I can't be too sure.
In the pictures the first 3 chicks look like females and the second 2 chicks look like males (sorry, the pictures aren't the best).

It only works when you cross a fast feathering strain of chickens with a slow feathering strain. The only variety I know of that is bred for this is amberlinks. So I don't believe it will work for your chicks.
