How are everyones pots (piggies) doing?

Oh I've got to get a picture of mine! her name is Porkchop. Shes about 8 years old, we kept her in the house until she was almost a year, then she got the run of the yard with our Boxer, until they decided they was leavin home one morning. Our neighbor called and said her DH had went to go get our dog and pig head toward the interstate. As we was comeing down our driveway which is about a half mile, here comes the nieghbor walking behind the boxer and the pig bringing them home. needless to say she moved in with our mini donkey and the boxer got a underground fence collar. I would of loved to see how many people driveing down the road that day turned around to make sure they seen what they thought they had seen..

mine does pretty good with her, but this is also his second pot bellied pig friend I had one other one before her name was Miss Piggy. He has times when he's mean to her (not as in hurting her) but he gets aggrivated at her layin around and he'll stand right beside her and take his foot and nudge her, she'll grunt and fuss and he'll nudge her again..

best we can figure is he's mad that shes being lazy..LOL I'd be careful when they first meet, we have a few horses and a mule that would kill her if they had half the chance.

here she is...

Why does it matter you go around to every single post and say the same thing lol no offence but thats what "other pets and livestock" is for to

Because we are trying to build up BYH. I did the same thing when BYCows was first started.

And THAT"S why we love Farmer Kitty so much

YAY more potbelly owners!

I have a boy and three girls. I just weaned one litter and have another one due. I have too many people wanting the babies and not enough babies. One is going to a therapy barn to be a therapy pig.

I have one that loves to play with one of my goats too. She follows him around and nuzzles him. This is the goat that thinks he is a person, and he is very patient with Apples.

I am thinking of getting our male neutered. Is there a lot involved in this? I am only used to the procedue for my horses, dogs, and goats, no idea how it is for piggies.

WoW! Lot's of pot people in here!
Be VERY CAREFUL introducing the pot to the donks. Especially if the pot is a baby. They might pick it up and toss it around. Introduce them slowly with something between them to protect the baby. Over time they should adjust.
From what I have read, the danger in getting the pigs fixed is the anestesia. (SP) There are several good pot groups on Yahoo that can advise you about what the vet should use. Pigs as pets is one group. Make sure to use a vet that has a lot of experience operating on pigs. Good Luck!

finding a good pb pig vet is worse than trying to find a vet for an emu. i had an emu that i had to put down due to an infection in its leg. called all the vets around, even livestock vets. when i asked if they treated emu's, most of them said, "you have a what? sorry, we don't treat reptiles!"
