How are topics chosen that go on the main BYC site?

Just curious....I saw one of mine a few days ago on it and it was exciting

I believe it displays the topics with the newest posts. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

If you're talking about the 10 or so topics listed here: http://www.backyardchickens.com then yes, they are posted there automatically. The list is updated about every 5 minutes and is recent topics.
