How beat up is too beat up?

Oh you beat me to it!! LOL

Yes any time you have to spray a bird's bird's comb or wattles. We hold a folded paper towel up to protect their eyes and then throw it up over their heads to block the spray from them shaking. I can't tell you the number of times my head, face, arm, shirt has gotten stained.

NOTES blue kote eventually washes out of most clothes after a number of washes. It can Not be used on felines.

You may consider safety goggles when using it.

Tractor supply does carry a blue kote bottle with dauber much better for combs and wattles. Still a mess and kind of squeeze the dauber out in the side of the bottle before is or it will run everywhere.

Also as for the spray kind always be sure which direction the nozzle is pointed before spraying. It can be hard to see where it comes out with the blue locking lid.

We are getting married in September and I keep telling my fiance that blue kote is likely going to be my something blue as I'll probably have some on me. Lol.

I have also gone into the doctor before and even asked where I got all the bruises. Lol blue kote bruises.
LOL That's awesome!

Whoops that is supposed to be that he doctor has asked me where I got all of the bruises. I of course knew what looked like bruises were blue kote.

Hello. When I introduced three new pullets (about 8 weeks old) to my 1-year old flock of four chickens I created a separate nursery on the side of the coop so that the ladies and girls could become familiar with one another. One day I discovered that a pullet had escaped the nursery and she'd been pecked on the head until it was bloody, raw and only bare skin. I cleaned the wound and let her sleep in a cage in the house that night. I re-worked the nursery to prevent escapes and a couple of days later put her back in with the other pullets. Two of my chickens constantly show their dominance to everyone and when it came time to take down the nursery and let them integrate I sat there with a bucket of water. The dominant girls chased the girls, (but the pullets were faster) and as they grow bigger they've become braver and the dominant girls seem less eager to show the young "whipper snappers" a thing or two by chasing them. I'm hoping when the pullets are full grown they won't be chased and only have to deal with the dominant girls occasional side peck at the food trough. Another person wrote about Blukote and that's a good idea. The chickens will peck at bloody spots. Good luck.

34 sq ft, and we have been letting them free range in the afternoon/evening so they aren't in there all the time. We did expand the run because we knew it was too small, we are working on expanding the roost area so they have more space at night. I am attaching pictures.
That is probably only enough room for one chicken not six. Almost all animals will fight if not given enough room. Is there anyway you can enlarge their run?

Thank you. They have settled in pretty well now. The bluekote really did help.
