how big do I need to make it??

we are in Fl so there is NO SNOW!!!

but it is hot here all the time

thats so much, I think I will plan to make it 24-30 sq ft!! thanks so much for all your advice! once it is built and I figure out how to add pics I will post some!

The run the have now in 6 ft wide, 12 ft long and about 4 1/2 ft tall... we have a bench in there for them to roost on and just 2 recycle bins for nesting boxes... I cant wait to get their new home built!!!

Maybe because mine are primarily free-ranged (although we do have an ample run for when they can't), they really don't go inside except when they lay eggs or roost (at least for the non-winter months). So maybe they are just too busy being about

. Now when we get snow, they're inside quite a bit. The exception is chicks - I'm working some chicks into the coop now, and they do spend quite a bit of time indoors, I guess because it's a safe zone for them right now.
OP - glad you're going bigger

There's no such thing as "too much space" when it comes to chickens.
