Hello everyone! Quick question. So I am looking to build a dog house per say for my two female Pekin ducks who are full grown. Right now they are in one of those plastic dog kennels for XL dogs, they know to go in when it gets dark due to predators and I let them out as soon as possible in the mornings. Anyways, I wanted to build a dog house type thing for them but I wasn’t sure how big it needed to be since they would only be spending the night in there? I was looking at dog house plans and the dog house is 24x26in and 28in tall and that seemed too small but I’m not sure how much room they really need to sleep.

Each duck needs 4 square ft, so you would need 8 square ft. And bigger is always better. I went smaller when I first got ducks, and quickly realized how that was a bad idea. I increased the size of my coop and I no longer had to clean the coop everyday.

Okay thank you! And yeah I’m not too worried about having to clean, I clean out the duck and chicken coops and pens everyday anyways just because I like things clean lol
