How big of an incubator would I need?

This is the Incubator I'm using. I made this one in 1964, and has run pretty much continusly since. There a bit more info in another post on this from this morning.

Thanks, geareduplyn. I actually saw this pic on the other post, but hadn't thought of the idea at the time. I was on the phone with a fellow chicken addict, and my dad came inside to have me brag for him. When he said how many eggs he had, a light bulb clicked! He usually gives away most of his eggs, and sells a few. I guess I could buy them off him, and make a good profit!! I think he sells the eggs for $2 a dozen! I will look to see what post that was in.

<edit> I found the other post, but it doesn't give the specs? How big is it, and how many eggs does it hold? Thanks again!

shelleyd2008 The internal dimensions are 30X16X30. This was designed so I could cut it from 1 sheet of 3/4" Marine Plywood. Also all the controls are on the front. The primary thermostat is mounted on the back wall, the secondary is on the front. The reason the primary is mounted in the rear is that it gave a quicker reaction time to minute changes of temperature and holds the internal temperature steadier. The rear thermostat is adjusted via a peice of speedometer cable running from the front to the back. It has a 7" fan, a 100 watt heating element , and three auto turning egg trays. When I built this thing all these nice plastic egg trays were not available, so it has been converted to use the plastic trays and each holds 96 eggs, thus my 288 egg capicity. All of the motors, microswitches, etc are available from W W Grainger, and the balance of the parts are all off the shelf items except for some turner parts which I machined.
