How big should the coop be for 8 birds?

We are starting our tractor today, and I want to make sure the coop section will be comfy without being too heavy.

The 4 sq ft rule is pretty good . ( 4 sq ft per chicken) I went a lil smaller since my girls hardly stay inside.. I will tell you bigger is always better because you will want more.... Don't forget to take pics ...

A 4 ft x 8 ft coop will give them the 4 sqft per chicken they need.

Unless they have a large, covered run and they can also free range, they should be in an 8x12 coop. A 4x8 coop will be enough if they have all of the aforementioned.
