We have a 4 year old orpington (with 4 others) not doing so well in the past 48 hours. We're in NZ so summer here. Also just had just had a proper fence put in (about 48 hours ago) so girls have a bit of new area, and wondering if she ate something bad, even though we checked the area and she's been in it before.
She's probably been sick for 48 hours or so. First noticed when she had a big poo on her butt feathers that flies were going after (Have not seen that before). Went straight to bed after dinner, thought she was maybe laying. Just lethargic, tranced, and doing a lot of liquid white urate on top of green poos.
Today, she was in the box all day, we washed her butt and have now brought her in to sleep in a warmer area and try her with food (she had a few live mealworms earlier, but nothing now). Her comb is bright red, she's doing green solidish poo with the liquid white urate. She's walking slowly when she does get up. Still tranced but responds to her sisters and will look up and 'bawk' at me or suddenly start preening.
I'm at a bit at a loss of what would be green poo with lots of liquid white urates. Other girls are fine with normal poos.
She had worm and parasite treatments at the end of winter. She's previously had a 3 year eye bubble issue that we've tried 10+ things for with the vet and no luck - and that has cropped up again this week, but no more than normal.
Latest poo:
