my aunt told me a skunk had cleared out her entire coop i thought it sounded bizzare but she might be onto something. my knoledge of skunks is limited to my dog killing one last summer.
called 4 gromers not a one would touch her but told me to mix dish soap, peroxide and baking soda and give her a bath in that. cowards
went to a local pet store bought two bottles of natures miracle skunk odor remover. didnt think 2 would be enough so went to tractor supply and bought the 4 bottles they had. I was on a mission next i went to walmart and bought dawn dish soap 4 bottles should do it. also a new pink collar.
I then went and bought a kiddie pool at dollar general I was ready to face the deskunking of cocoa. Shes a lab and husky mix with very thick fur.
ok we then draged the fur ball of destruction over to the pool it was a 4 person job. one to hold onto her, one for the hose, and two whining teenagers to suds her up. got her all washed and rinsed and let her shake off the excess next while she was still damp we used up 4 bottles of the skunk odor remover and saturated her so it could soak into the skin. we then let her go nurse her pride and dry off she smelled slightly for about a week but it was much better than before.
That afternoon we went to the vet for a rabies booster. I told them the story and they were laughing and joking saying we will see cocoa soon for another booster once they find a skunk they will do it again.
