I ordered 10 ducklings to meet the shipping minimum with plans to keep 3 or 4 and rehome the others. Well circumstances have left me with 5. Theres 3 Im very fond of, one that is nice but im not super attached to (but i would prefer to keep 4), and one that doesnt quite fit in with what Im looking for.
The other ducklings I was able to rehome young as pairs but theyre 9 days old now. I would like to rehome the one for sure but I feel bad if they are all bonded with each other if it would be traumatic to be separated from all her buddies or if it would be better to send her with a friend she already knows.
She isnt attached to any one of them in particular, and I would make sure she went to a home with other ducklings her age so she wouldnt be alone. I just don't know how close ducklings bond to each other at this point. Would she be traumatized or would not really notice and assimilate with her new flock? I really would like to keep 4 but I'm ok with 3 if it meant the lone one would be better off.
