How bout a Combo for Bedding?

To save a bit I was thinking of mixing pellets with pine shavings with some Sweet PDZ. Any thoughts? I dont know much about the PDZ

I put down pellets as a base because its so absorbant and smells nice, then I toss in shredded paper (from the machine at work) and brown leaves or straw. I'm not using deep litter method in my teeny coop; I clean frequently. Time will tell if this works for me. I'm interested to know if this has worked for longtimers.
