How can I brighten up the inside of the coop...

if you didnt want to go straight white, you could always doa whitewash. or even paint it a nice creamy yellow?

Paint does wonders. The post about rustic and bright don't go together is so true. The wife and I live is a 1850's log 4 pen dogtrot house. We left the inside natural and you just can't have enough lights on at night. These log absord light. I would think the same is true in the coop. That's why I paneled mine and painted it white. Inside the nest boxes I paint brown but everything else is white. No light bulbs in there either. Just natural light.

Your yard is beautiful!! Love the garden and stone path!! I think you just need something to reflect the light. Easiest would just be a wall mirror. But in keeping with your rustic style, you could go with the old fashioned tin signs.... maybe some with chicken themes...eggs for sale or whatever. Hit thrift stores and see if you can find some rustic looking kitchen items to hang on the walls, or shiny metal buckets. I think it is MississippiFarmboy that has his cool coop decorated this way.

BRB seeing if I can find a link. OK found it. Maybe you could put some of his ideas on the inside to brighten things up:

You could paint? I'm going to paint mine lime green on the inside XD They don't have a window, but they really don't spend any time in there (minus night and laying their eggs). I would have put one, but I have no idea how to frame a window.. Maybe my father will do it for me

Thank you everyone for your ideas! I really appreciate it..I think I am going to leave it wood, and maybe just paint a few things here and there..some splashes of color and I really like the idea of hanging up items around...Love IT! I also have a huge mirror out there in the shed...are mirrors really a good idea for the chickens? I love the idea, but don't want to do anything that would bother my girls and guy!

Thanks again!
