How can I create a dustbath

I made one with sand and peat moss and they just seem to eat most of the peat moss and not dust bathe in it. The peat moss also shows up in their poop. Do you have that problem?

No. But I do see the picking at the chunks of charcoal from the wood ash. That is good for them though.

I am thinking of doing it by cutting an entrance into a plastic tote and filling the tote with some type of dust bath material.

Good idea!
Might want more than one hole for some ventilation...
....or leave lid off when it's not rain of snowing.
Will you just move that around when you move the tractor?
No need for anything special, just some lose dirt.
Do have they created a dust bath themselves?
If so, just dig up some of that to put in tote.

This is a container I had years ago. I put sand in it and the youngsters loved it.
