How can I dispose of old feed?

Weird question Probably obvious but if I were to bury some feed and then plant something on top of the buried feed would it help it grow well? Or would it cause problems
The feed will take a while to degrade and compost (could be months depending on conditions). So it won't be available for the plant to use for quite a while. In the meantime, it won't hurt as long as the plant has other soil/compost and moisture to use.

Definitely don't dump the food on your property. If you're not going to feed it or give it away, throw it away. The rats and mice, once they find you - will never ever go away. It's not worth it. You'll then be faced with do I set traps, do I risk poisoning etc...

I naively dumped 200lbs of bad feed (arrived molded from the feed store, they replaced it but did not want the molded food returned, said "dump it") ... and what that started - just don't do it. When we moved the chickens to the new house, it took a while for the rats to relocate. It was disgusting, distressing, and I will never, ever make that mistake again.

Don't waste it. Fill a bird feeder up with it. 50# will feed them most of the winter. Put it on CL. Someone needs it. Me personally i would just add some rooster booster and call it a day. Cutting it 50/50 is not a bad idea either.
