How can I do this cheaply?

Do you have a welder? I found that there is alot of metal lying around free for the asking. I bought three sections of cattle panels from lowes for $75.00 and srcrounged some 3/4 inch water pipe from an old mobile home that we had torn down.
Here take alook for youself!

I prefer to build strong the first time around so that I dont have to rebuild later on. Thats why I ask if you have a welder. Wood has to be replaced every so often, where as metal will last 20-30 years or more! So thats why I chose to use metal. Plus the simplicity of a hoop coop is, in my opinion an ideal design. Also recycling saves money too! You spend abit today but think down the road. Do you want to rebuilding you coop on a nice summer day or would you rather be out enjoying the freedom you get from raising more chickens from free discarded junk!

I dont have a welder cause I am a kid but my dad has a welder. Did you use a stick or wire welder? How long did it take to build? Thanks!

I used a mig welder (wire). It took me about 4 weekends to build. I have to work nights, so on my days off I would build a little more.
If I didnt work at all I could have built it in 3 or 4 days.
