How can I keep their bums/eggs clean?

Hello All,

I need your help. One of my Cochins keeps getting poop stuck to her feathers and it is causing the eggs to be steaked with poop. I have tried to clean her with baby wipes and have also put her in the bath tub to clean her up, her vent was almost completely closed with dried poop (this was when it was much warmer outside). I am in New England and it is pretty cold at the moment. Is there anything I can do to prevent this? If not, should I put her back in the tub and blow dry her back side?

trim back some of her fluffy feathers near the vent is she acting different the closed vent worries me

Thank you, I was not sure I could trim the feathers. Don't worry I am on top of the vent thing. How do I know how much to trim off?

Just cut off all of the poopy feathers.
Cut off as much as you are happy with. It's not like they will be like that forever. They will grow back.

dont cut too close on the feather shafts or it could cause bleeding
