How can I make my chicks like me?

When you pick them up, don't swoop in from above. Either scoop them up from the front/side or let them see one hand while you pick them up with the other.Ideally, do both - scoop from the front while cradling from above with the other. The dark "cave" of your hands will be less threatening than simply being lifted out.

I buy them off Amazon, 5 lbs at a time. But for chicks, you don't need that many. You might want to check Chewy. Or Tractor Supply to buy in person. How many chicks do you have?

I do the same thing, except our chicks are all "Peepers." All I have to do is call out a high-pitched "PEEP-ers" and every last beak is poking through the run fence looking for handouts! The reverse works when they're riled up. A soft, low repeat generally lets them know all is well and nothing is going to hurt them.

Mine are "CHICKEEEENS!" WHERE'S MY CHICKEEEEENS???" And they all pick up their skirts and come a-galloping! They know it's treat time when Momma hollers for her chickens, lol!
