How can I stop my chicken from eating their eggs

This is the first time I have found one of my ameraucana eggs like this


I have found many of eggs in my hen boxes that have been eaten by my chickens.
Does any body know how to stop chickens from eating their eggs?

If you do a search on BYC this has been addressed numerous times on other threads. I suggest looking at some of those.

Personally, I would collect eggs as often as possible during the day and see if you can catch the culprit in the act. Fake eggs are good too as they sometimes confuse them.

Thanks. I already keep white golf balls in the hen boxes to make sure that my hens lay in my hen boxes because I have bought sixteen hens from a guy who didn't have hen boxes so the just layer where ever they wanted to and the golf balls got hem to lay in the hen boxes.
