A wounded rabbit call is almost like a Siren call. They can't resist checking it out. BUT, make sure you are up wind or your smell breaks the charm of the call. You can also buy recorded calls, set your player up at a distance, and sit back and scan the area. If they're around they usually respond fairly quickly. Don't want the other predators beating them to the prey.

Get a coyote call find a good spot upwind. and call them in at night. I've killed lots of them. Calls can be cheep or expensive. Fox pro is the best. but other calls work good at short distance. Rabbit in distress is my favorite. Look into a .22 mag or a .218 with a good scope for long distance along with a shotgun. I always bring a rifle and a shotgun on hunts.

Doesn't have to be at night. I've called in many a coyote in the middle of the day. The wounded rabbit call just seems to be too irresitable to a coyote. Pesonally, I'd just bring my 30-06, even a bad shot will take it down. Don't take a chance of a bad shot and a wounded predator. I can reach out a LOT farther too.

I was basicly tossing a warning out there as in some places it is illegal to hunt at night even for coyotes or even in places where you can hunt at night it has to be in season or you have to have a predation permit. Also, in some states if you are hunting illegally you are in more trouble than one might think.

i have got them doing the day also with the 30-06 and my bow. with help of a call and foxpro they come runing when they hear the turkey yelp .
