How chickens affect other chickens?

I have a black tailed white japanese bantam that I held often as a chick now its hanging around with other chickens that were less tamed and its starting to avoid contact with me I am wondering if maybe its still getting used to its new enviroment or if it really is the other less tamed chickens. Any ideas?

Age can have a lot to do with it - they get more skittish in their juvenile stage, around 12 weeks or so. Once they start laying, some hens go back to being really friendly.
