How cold is too cold at night?

We are going to be in single digit temps at night. Would anyone advise using a heater?
Where are you located? I live in central Wisconsin. What type of coop are your birds in?

In general heat is unnecessary, and can cause more problems with your birds like interfering with the acclimating process and can cause your birds to overheat.

When we get temperature drops I generally see some birds looking cold and hunched for a day or two until they acclimate, than they are fine. I have never used heat, too many fires are caused by heating coops in winter.

Single digit F or C?
Yes, location please.
Easy to put in profile, then it's always there! ;)
First post said Wisconsin, so it would be Fahrenheit. I don't think single digits are predicted here, so they are perhaps north of me.

Oops, I guess we are in for single digits at night in the next few days. Just watched the weather.

I just think folks should always clarify F or C......it's not that hard.
Either is putting location in profile.
I know, I know, I'm a broken record asking for clear and accurate information.
Just a ranter I guess.
