how cold is too cold??

it is about 8 degrees where i am at. is it too cold for my chickens? I have 8 of them and was wondering if they will snuggle up together to keep warmth. Do they need a heat lamp?

Are they new to you chickens? If so then did the previous owner heat them? Are they chicks or adults?

Adult chickens will do just fine in a shelter out of drafts but good ventilation in far below 0 temperature. Our high for the last week was 31F one day and lowest -19F, average temp all week 4.5F. No heat and no worries here.

they are adults and i raised them since they were a day old so i have been their only owner. Thank you so much for your advice
