How come chickens can not fly?

I don't know why chickens can't fly. I thought it was that they didn't have enough feathers on their wings. I don't know, I just want to find out.

Because they are too heavy to fly and some breeds can fly better then others, like Leghorns can fly pretty well, but Brahmas can't fly at all!

Their body structure does not support flight - heavy bodies (made heavier with years of purposeful breeding) don't lend themselves to extended flight. That's why you see better flight from smaller/lighter bodied chicken breeds.
