How dark the chicken coop?

Something happened two days ago a new roo that is younger than other in the flock starting getting on a chicken at 430am (luckily I got to see this on my security cam) in the morning I knew that chicken was not that strong and I lost one a couple of days to another roo getting on her and making harm to her, so I need to know how dark should it be, because I am thinking that if its dark they wont do this because they cannot see too much?

Any ideas? Thanks.

Put the roo's by themselves... they may be using the IR from your camera to see.
