how deep of a tray under roost

Hi I want to put a tray under my roost for sweat PZD how deep and wide would you recommend?

The roost is a 2 x 4 (4" side up), the poopboard under it is 2' deep with a 1" lip all the way around

You only need about a half inch or so of PDZ to do the trick but you'll want at least an inch edge so they don't toss it all out on the floor.

I used 2 x 6's around the tray to keep them from flicking it all over the place.
