How Deep Should I Bury HC?

I wouldn't bury it at all. 2 feet out across the ground and pinned down, very well secured to the bottom framing of the coop and run on the other edge.

I'm doing that job right now... this clay and rock is giving me fits. Can only get 6 inches down.... so I'm going 6 down and about 8 out.

Not burying mine. Originally I was just going to bury it outwards a few inches deep but decided to let the grass grow through it.

I would love to just pin it down but it is not very possible in this situation. I don't have very much room for the coop and not enough room to pin it down.

Show us the situation in pics.
If you can't lay it out on the ground ~18" then burying is the next best thing.

I have HC 2 feet out from the bottom of the run fence. I unrolled it curl side down and weighed it down with rocks. I had some foot square pavers from another project, and put those on the corners. Since the plan is to move the coop/run closer to the house for the winter in a few weeks, I covered the HC with weed block fabric, lifting the rocks, laying the fabric, putting the rocks back down. Some grass/weed growth through, but I think I'll be able to take it up fairly easily. Nothing has dug underneath, and we have skunks, raccoons, woodchucks, dogs, and a coyote in the area.
