How did I get mareks?

Walked out to take him breakfast and when I turned the corner into the shed he was standing up, not just sitting vertical. Somehow I don't think he had mareks. Maybe malnutrition and a fall. I can still do a necropsy because I do not keep roosters here, toddlers visit, the roosters get too mean.

The pullets he was in with have not reached point of lay. I did not clean the coop. Read the 6 to 16 week incubation period and determined they were infected or not infected. I can keep him isolated til he is eating size and see how they do

of my January hatch this guy, the one the other roosters clobbered, was the only one to get his own flock. A vet in a country town near by got him a home. Not bad for a mixed breed roo with a broken spine/neck who got pushed off the roof of the coop
