How did my hen manage to hatch her eggs?

The first couple months that you had her was she laying eggs? When I gave my MIL some chickens it took them 3 months to start laying eggs again. Maybe that could extend the fertilization window of time.

Actually, there was a study and the hens that change to roosters fertilized hens, and those fertilized eggs hatched. I'll try and find the article.

Wow! I have a hen that turned into a rooster about a year ago and then she didn’t lay eggs for about eight or nine months and now she is turning back into a hen and has started laying eggs, six eggs a week.

Yes and there is more eggs in the nest but dont think they’ll hatch

Just wondering if you only have two colors of eggs, because each hen lays a specific color. I can always tell which egg came from which chicken and I have a nine of them.I would say that if you have more than two different tints of eggs then somebody is pulling a prank. Have any of your friends or family ever owned chickens? Usually people that have never own chickens do not know about the whole brooding process. It could be some weird kind of miracle on the other hand.
