HOW did Some of your Flock/pets get it's name

One of my roosters was named Tyson by my kids. When he started crowing it was a very squeaky a funny sounding. We ended up calling him mike

I have eight hens. Sassy was named that because she is that. I have a Penny and a Copper. I also have Road Runner who is very fast and hard to catch. Then there is Georgie who is curious. Goofy is one of my broody hens. Goldie is the other broody. Funny Foot because she had bumble foot and had a strange growth on the top of one foot. I hadn't named her yet, so Funny Foot just kind of stuck.

The oldest one of my hens is named Fancy, mainly due to a her lovely head feathers. Jedi and Gem were actually part of two different sibling sets with other names that were subsets of their current names. Unfortunately, I was not the greatest at differentiating the chickens, so I just called them by group names. They now hold sole ownership, due to a predator invasion a few months ago where their siblings did not survive. Franny is my only silkie, and I named her to match the Silkie rooster I had a few months ago. His name was Fritz because I was told he was a Frizzle, and Franny came from the same place he did so I decided to name them as a matching pair. Crown the hatchling from Fritz and one of the Gem's or Jedi's that Franny sat for me. He/She is named for her dark head feathers with a lighter colored body. The "Tree twins" don't have set names yet, due to waiting on confirmation to whether they are hen or rooster. If I have one of each, I am considering Rowan and Oak. If I end up with two hens, I am considering Rowan and Willow.

My first three have goofy names. Let’s just say that I wanted to name them Whiskey, Tango, and Foxtrot, and the names they wound up with are worse. So I named our next two.

A Speckled Sussex sounds very English to me, so I named her Tessa. (My daughters played soccer with a Tessa, who was a formidable defender, and our feathered Tessa is looking similarly sturdy.)

Her bestie is Willow, an Easter Egger - none of this Americana nonsense. The type of EE’s I have start with slate blue legs which change to willow green, thus Willow. I suppose if I wound up with an Americana, I could name her Emmylou, as in Harris. 🤔
