When I got into chickens this past Fall & was new to this board, at that time I had 3 children (4yrs, 3yrs, & 1yr), we had just acquired 3 baby kittens, 1 Dlamatian puupy & 13 baby chicks. So "Momma Hen" just seemed fitting.
I wanted guineas and Speckled Sussex. Got guineas, who do have polka dots, had to rehome them after one kept trying to kill my Rhode Island Reds (just them, no one else). Never got around to finding Speckled Sussex till now. I have 14 due to hatch on Saturday April 21. Hence, speckledhen.
My hubby calls me bonbon. While he was stationed in Korea we used Yahoo Mess. to communicate to save on long distance, I signed up as Bonbon40121 since I was in Ft Knox Kentucky(40121) waiting for him. Since then he has retired, we have moved to Georgia permanetly so I changed it to bonbon31316
Well, i'm a mama #1 and a bluegrass picker and mostly mandolin - thus mandolinmama.
My kids have grown up hearing me play and singing to them.
But don't forget, I play banjo too and there's nothing quite like a banjo lullaby.
I'm pretty much still a kid at heart & like to goof off & act like a Ditz sometimes. Also, i'd forget my head if it weren't connected to me. So, I came up with DitzzyChic.
great thread! the sweetmama part is from being a mama to 4 children, ages 32, 25, 18 and 12. i was trying to use that as a screen name on Yahoo!, but all the numbers i picked were being used. so i picked 65000 from the movie "transylvania 6-5000" because i knew i could remember it. (The fun of getting old!)
Well, I live on a ranch, am married, and have chickens. So I am chickenranchwife. My yahoo email is [email protected]. My name is Jada and I like this thread it's pretty cool gettin to know all of you through posts and this. Take care all of you and have a blessed weekend!
s (my first initial)
deneen (my middle name - the one I use)
2001 (the year that I first got a yahoo account because sdeneen was already taken)
that's it!
... how did i come up with my screen name...
Pringle is the name of one of my chickens! (she's in my avatar!) and Sussex... well before she died.. "Pecky" was the most talkative Sussex chicken i ever had! i could call her... and she come... and i ask her something and she would cluck back to me
