How did your flock annoy you today?

My chickens love the RentACoop treat dispenser. I'll fill it with pellets, and they'll spend the day pecking the tubes to dispense a "reward".

I refilled this morning, then watched my d'Uccle systematically empty each tube, leave the pellets on the ground in a pile, then walk away...

They have eaten all the unripe (!) currants from the bushes and still have the guts to stare at me through the fence asking for more treats.

Wow. Why are we keeping chickens again? I seriously have secondhand annoyance from this.

Yeah. Sheet survived 2 years. Today they realized that below the aluminum foil there was a soft material that they registered as styrofoam. Then they proceed to eat it whole.
Now their coop will be 5°C hotter.

I opened the gate so they could free range, but they all decided hanging out in the shade of the run was more appealing. Well fine, then. Humph.

My smallest pullet, already not the sharpest crayon in the box (the one in my avi pic, in fact), has apparently gone broody today. She’ll be six months old tomorrow. She’s scared her two flock sisters witless. Two new pullets arrive Tuesday, and the wire cage meant for their integration will now have to be a broody jail.

She’s the most erratic layer of the three. Where did these hormones come from?!

They eat the leaves not the tomatoes . Tomatoes are their favorite but they don’t understand that killing the tomato plants means no tomatoes
